my friend sent me this article. i opened the link, minimized it and thought, "let me check wit to see if there are any updates." i didnt realize what the artcle was about, until moments later when i saw the photo that accompanies it. i have been checking her blog multiple times a day hoping for updates. i am really, really shocked by this. i feel just awful. i could always count on wit for interesting and varied commentary and wonderful, inspirational images.
i read this post on fashionista.com a while ago...after i had already fallen in love with and amassed quite a collection of oxfords and jazz shoes. the consensus in the comments seems to be a big, fat NO. but i adore them. maybe it is due to the fact that i wore these (in tan and black) for most of my childhood. i started with ballet at 2 and then moved onto tap, jazz and pointe until about 14. at that point, dancing was replaced with chatting on the phone with girlfriends at all hours and gushing over male rock stars and such. my bf always jokes that my eyes immediately dart toward anything remotely dance inspired. i was instantly smitten with the ballet flat and the pointe shoe flat, and snatched up every color i could find. i will do the same with these. i have quite a collection of the ankle strap character shoes in my clothing collection stored at mom's house. next time i visit i may have to dig those out as well!
tried to show the button detail in the back -- one of which popped off when i bent over moments before taking this shot! also, getting into this dress alone is impossible. getting out of it alone was a sight to be seen, im sure :)

today was spent reading, watching a marathon of britian's next top model on vh1, furthering an addiction to matcha green tea, playing with tiny c...oh! and trying to organize the masses of crap i acquire. at this point, the fact that i have SO MUCH STUFF is not the problem. the real issue is that i am completely unable to get rid of anything!
on the agenda for tomorrow: shopping all day with a friend! ;)
